Written and illustrated by Australians, the stories follow a group of teens who enjoy activities such as hiking, skiing and kayaking in Australia’s great outdoors. Each text is split into bite-sized chapters, making them simultaneously more ‘grown-up’ and more manageable for struggling readers.
The accompanying activities give students plenty of opportunities to practise reading and spelling the sound-spelling correspondences covered in Extended Code Phoneme Units 1-7 in the context of engaging activities.
The texts and activities can be used whole class, in small groups and in one-to-one settings, as well as for homework or home-schooling. Each activity has clear instructions so that teachers, teaching assistants, parents or carers know exactly how to use them.
